Burnishing restores gloss by polishing a sound finish film. It is not a substitute for strip & wax when the finish is yellowed, thin, or worn through to the tile.

When burnishing helps

• Finish is intact but dull from traffic
• You want a wet-look gloss for lobbies, retail, or schools
• You are maintaining a finish system between recoats

When burnishing is the wrong tool

• Finish is powdering, yellowed, or built up in layers
• Black marks and scratches go through to the tile
• Someone has been burnishing over dirt for months

In those cases we recommend scrub-and-recoat or a full strip — burnishing would only polish the problem.

4. Detail edges and corners that machines miss
